Crane Lake Camp hosted our first soccer tournament of the summer today. Fifth grade boys from 7 other camps came to CLC for a double elimination, 7 versus 7 tournaments held on our soccer fields. Thirteen boys represented Crane Lake on the field and were coached by Brad L. and their counselor Noah B. The boys played fantastically and made it all the way to the quarterfinals. CJ and Matty, CLC’s sports director and assistant sports director, managed the tournaments throughout the day. “After losing our first game, we pulled a comeback in the last minute to advance to the quarterfinals,” CJ said. Some highlights from the game included Ben T. scoring a penalty shot in the last minute to win the game in order to advance. While our team tourny2did lose 2-1 in the final game, the boys still had smiles on their faces at the end of the day. Many campers from all different units came to watch the successful tournament. Olim ‘14 campers hosted at the tournament and acted as support systems for the other visiting camps. We are happy to say that Crane Lake has started off strong in the sports department and we are looking forward to more tournaments to come!
