Throughout the summer, the athletics staff organizes several tournaments each week. This past week was full of tournaments on and off camp. Campers of all ages are able to join a team and later play in a tournament. Prior to tournaments, campers practice during rest hour and any other free time they have. If the tournament is hosted by Crane Lake, Olim campers have the opportunity to help the visiting camps with anything they may need. Tournaments are a great way for campers to meet children at other camps and partake in some friendly competition.

Below is a recap of the tournaments since camp has started!

CLC2015Day3-48On Thursday, July 2nd, the 6th grade boys played in a football tournament at Mackinac. “We put 100% into it,” said Noah C. from bunk LVE. “Although the other teams seemed more experienced, we still tried our best and had a lot of fun,” added Adam M. from bunk LVE. While the 6th grade boys were off at the football tournament, the 8th grade boys were at Berkshire Hills Eisenberg Camp for a basketball tournament.

On Monday, July 6th, Crane Lake hosted a soccer tournament for 5th grade boys. Crane Lake Camp, Eisner Camp, Camp Lenox and Berkshire Hills Eisenberg Camp all participated in the tournament. Crane Lake was in bracket A and made it all the way to the semi finals.

Today, the 6th grade girls played in a tournament at Crane Lake. Eisner camp, Taconic and Lenox partook in the tournament.
