SHIPPING OR SCHLEPPING YOUR CAMPER’S LUGGAGE FAQ’s

When can we bring our camper’s luggage to camp, Saturday June 19th or Sunday June 20th?
We apologize for the error in our initial email. You can bring your camper’s luggage to camp on Saturday, June 19th. Although we would prefer not to collect luggage on Shabbat, Sunday June 20th is Father’s Day and we don’t want to take that day away from our families!

If I choose not to have Camp Trucking deliver my camper’s bags back home at the end of the session, will I have to make an extra trip to get the bags, or will I get the bags and my camper at the same time?
Although we are still hammering out all the details of what Closing Day will look like this summer, we know for sure that campers and their luggage will be leaving camp at the same time. We will not ask you to make an additional trip to camp to collect your camper’s luggage. You may certainly choose Camp Trucking’s round trip option if you would like your camper’s luggage delivered right back to your door. It should return home after camp in 3-4 days.

Do I have to pay the extra fee for a sleeping bag? Will my camper need one this summer?
Since there is an extra fee for shipping a sleeping bag, and it would take up 1/3 of a camper’s duffel, we are asking that you not pack a sleeping bag. Our Teva program will be run a bit differently this summer, with campers hiking and cooking dinner at our campsite. They will return to their cabins to sleep, so no need for a sleeping bag this summer. We’ve removed it from our 2021 Packing List.

Do we have to ship or schlep plastic drawers to camp? What size? How many?
Many campers enjoy placing small items like underwear, socks, pens, books, etc. in a 3-drawer plastic drawer unit. It is certainly not a required item to have at camp. We do not want you to incur the extra shipping charge, so we are allowing you to bring your camper’s plastic drawer unit on Opening Day. You can certainly bring it to camp on June 19th as well. PLEASE – ONLY ONE PLASTIC DRAWER UNIT PER CAMPER THAT IS NO BIGGER THAN 14.25 in L x 12.05” W x 26.44” H.!

There is an extra charge for sports equipment, what sports equipment do we need to send?
You do not need to send any sports equipment – we have it all! If your camper has a favorite baseball mitt or tennis racket you can certainly pack those, but no real need.

I always pack my camper’s clothes in fabric cubes that fit right into their cubby. How should I pack those?
If you would like to send fabric cubes to help keep your camper’s clothing organized in the camp-provided wooden cubby, you can either pack directly into the cubes and place them in your child’s duffel, or you can pack them flat, and we will place the clothing in them as we unpack your camper. If you choose to supply cubes for your camper, they must be included in the luggage brought or shipped to camp prior to Opening Day. Please make certain that the cubes measure 10.5 x 10.5. Cubes that are 12 x 12 will not fit in our cubbies.

Since our Visiting Day will be virtual, will camp waive its no-package policy for full summer campers?
Yes, we anticipate that our full summer campers, during their Zoom call on Visiting Day, will ask their parents to send a package with a few items that need to be replaced or replenished. We will happily waive our no-package policy for our full summer campers during the days following Visiting Day. One package only please!

My camper wants to bring a musical instrument to camp, how should we get it there?
