Camp has come a long way since the “Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah” days at Allan Sherman’s Camp Grenada. In addition to snail mail, you can send bunknotes via bunk1.com, and Sealed With a Kiss makes sending packages a breeze. In recent summers we have posted occasional updates on Facebook and Twitter to help keep our families involved in the fun of camp. There are so many ways we will keep in touch with our families this summer, so we thought we’d let you know a bit about it:

Summer Central Blog: This is the place where you can find all things going on at camp. Articles about special events, unique experiences and summer reflections will be posted on the blog, so you can imagine yourself at camp. If going to Twitter, Facebook, the video page takes too much time away from your work day, you can visit Summer Central for your one stop shop for all of these updates posted in real-time. On all of the blog articles, we would love to hear your comments right on the blog.

TwitterFacebook: If your on Facebook, make sure you “like” URJ Crane Lake Camp. If you aren’t on, consider joining to get real-time updates about what’s doing. We’ll post photos with our favorite sports, arts as well as nights like rib night! On Twitter, we’ll update you as to what’s going on in 140 characters or less… A little window into Crane Lake’s world.

Videos: Find links to our video page on Summer Central for clips and short montages, so you can really get a sense of what a day is like here at camp. Take a look at some of the 2010 videos on our page.

The Daily Bubble: Each day our campers will get a daily newsletter with birthdays, sports scores, short articles, the day’s menu, etc. So you can see what the campers are reading, we’ll post the Daily Bubble for parents to see too.

Bunk 1 Photos and Notes: Each day we post around 200 photos, trying to photograph all of the kids in camp doing so many different activities. Our photographers work hard to get these photos online every day so you can see camp and the fun that your child is having. With bunk notes and bunk replies, you’ll be able to bypass the slow turnaround of snail mail and communicate faster with your child.

With all of these ways of staying in touch with camp, it’s almost like you’re here! We hope that you will visit Summer Central frequently throughout the summer and stay up-to-date with everything we have to offer. We even have a few surprises to keep camp fun for all of our parents at home.
