It’s Friday night at 10:30, and all is quiet in Eisner Camp. Sixty-six new campers are tucked in their bunks under the watchful eyes of twenty outstanding Crane Lake and Eisner counselors. Just a few hours earlier they rolled into camp with their parents, brother, sisters, and grandparents to begin their New Camper Weekend adventure. settled. Whether they were with the “Superguys” or “Tinkerbells,” our new campers made their beds, unpacked their bags, and got to know their bunkmates. The “first day of camp” continued with a short tour and then a welcome ceremony and Kabbalat Shabbat services in the Beit Am. A delicious Shabbat family dinner followed, and then our parents said good night. The fun continued for our campers, as they sang, danced, and capped off the evening with traditional Shabbat ice cream sundaes. And then it was back up the hill to the cabins to get ready for bed. It was a jam-packed five hours—and just the beginning of an exciting and unforgettable adventure!
