Crane Lake Camp is excited to announce that we will be hosting a food drive to benefit the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. Giving back to the community that houses the Crane Lake bubble is important to us, so campers and families are encouraged to bring canned goods and non-perishable foods when they arrive for opening day on June 30th. Our goal is to donate at least 2 pounds per camper that enters through the red gates on Monday. While not visible to the public eye, the area around camp happens to be quite food insecure. About 1 in 5 children go to bed hungry each night.

We want take the opportunity to do some Tikkun Olam, repairing the world, in order to make a difference in our community. For as it is written, “You are not required to complete the work, nor are you free to ignore it.” Pirke Avot 2:16. We hope that the Crane Lake community can do as much as we can, in the time that have, in the place that we are, and to inspire others to join us in this holy work.
