I’ve been going to Crane Lake for six summers now and as long as I can remember the Machon have thrown a 4th of July carnival. During this festival there are games, snacks, amusement rides and other fun activities. Everyone dresses up like hooligans and we run around camp to celebrate the anniversary of the separation of our nation from Great Britain in 1776. Every year since 2009 I’ve made countless new memories with my friends on this day. This summer, although we had slight weather problems (its been down-pouring constantly since yesterday) it didn’t come in the way of our fun. My friends and I paraded around camp trying all the games. My favorite was most definitely the Sombrero Toss or the donut catching game. I also got “married”, another entertaining activity. The Machon were great hosts and all around it was an awesome day. Thank you to the Machon for a great carnival, I’m unbelievably sad I won’t be here to witness next year’s 4th of July.
