Shabbat Shalom Crane Lake Camp!

Well, we’ve finally made it. After an eight hour flight last Sunday, we arrived in cloudy (but gorgeous) Prague, Czech Republic to be greeted by our counselors. Over the past week, we’ve toured Prague and learned about the city’s rich Jewish history, raced up and down about a bazillion stairs, and ate lots of sauerkraut and gelato. We visited the city’s museums and learned about the story of the Golem before visiting Terezin, the ghetto-turned-concentration camp that the Nazis used to convince the rest of the world that Jews were not being mistreated.

After an eight hour drive to Poland, we visited Auschwitz. The experience was immensely powerful, and helped us put our experience in perspective and strengthen our pride in being Jewish. On Sunday, we fly down to Israel to start a four-week journey there, and we totally can’t wait!

We hope you had a great Fourth of July!
