Dear Crane Lake Families,

We’ve had an awesome second week of first session! The sun is shining and we’ve had so many exciting things happened this week. From several tournaments to fight song to rib night, we have been having way too much fun!

Girls of all ages competed in a track meet getting medals in all different categories. Bonim boys baseball team made it to the championship and Chaverim girls played in a tennis tournament. The staff competed in tournaments as well! They played volleyball, ultimate frisbee and baseball against Eisner and swept the board winning every game.

We had a special Friday program this week with the theme of “im ein ani li mi li”- if I am not for myself, who will be for me?  Campers explored their individual selves through three different areas: mind, body and spirit. They exercised their minds through a rousing game of Jewpardy, their bodies through sports and water activities, and their spirits by each choosing their own spirit chug such as walking meditation, yoga, or gardening.

Fight song night was filled excitement and ruach. We had an energetic havdallah ceremony together before the competition commenced. Each unit, boys and girls, dressed up in creative outfits and sang their hearts out on the rec hall stage. This week we will be releasing videos of each fight song leading up to the winner, so stay tuned!

Tonight was Rib Night and we ate more ribs than anyone could imagine and had delicious apple pies for dessert. Campers and staff danced to country tunes all around the Chadar Ochel.

This week is trip week! Tomorrow, Olim leaves for their four-day trip Montreal and Vermont. Chaverim depart on Tuesday for Boston and New York City. And lower camp leaves for their day trips to 6 Flags and Lake Compounce on Wednesday.
