Every week Crane Lake introduces a Jewish value of the week for campers and staff to think about in their everyday camp lives. This week’s Jewish value is to Sh’mirat Ha-guf or protect the body. We do many things here at CLC to Sh’mirat Ha-guf so we asked campers how they protect their bodies and care for themselves.

Madison K., Bunk 16 – I like to eat healthy. Protecting myself also means protecting others so I try to help my friends eat healthy and exercise.

Max L., Bunk 28 – I wear sunscreen so I don’t get burned.

Rachel B., Bunk MVE – I drink water to stay hydrated.

Max H., Bunk 23 – I do a lot of sports and activities to keep my body in shape.

Matt L., Bunk 21 – I play baseball to stay healthy.

Shantal K., Machon – I run almost everyday to keep in shape during the summer.

Jason C., Machon – I brush my teeth. Sometimes I spend 6 minutes alone brushing my teeth, flossing and using mouthwash.

Jared M., Bunk 18 – I drink a lot of water to keep myself hydrated and have energy to do other things.

Hannah F., Bunk GVW – I brush my teeth so they stay strong and don’t get cavities.

Noam N., Upper Chav Counselor – I Sh’mirat Ha-guf by doing 8 minute abs every day.

Rob W., Programming Specialist –  I eat at the salaad bar because a healthy body is a healthy mind.
