Campers and Staff enjoyed celebrating Israel last week at Crane Lake Camp. We entered the Chadar Ochel to find it decorated in blue and white as Israeli music played in the background. We feasted on a traditional Israeli meal of schnitzel, Israeli salad, and humus- followed by a delicious dessert of Kadoray Shokolad (chocolate truffles), thanks to our fantastic chefs and kitchen staff.

Screen-Shot-2015-07-13-at-3.44.12-PMAfter dinner, the campers visited various locations in Israel where they participated in activities that gave them a real feel for Israel. Some campers were members of Maccabee Tel Aviv or Hapoel Jerusalem playing in the Nokia Stadium. Other visited the old City of Jerusalem where they learned about the time line of this ancient and modern city. At the Kinneret, campers learned about the water shortage, and those that visited Tel Aviv had fun dancing to Israeli music in a club atmosphere. All of the campers helped to create a banner that expressed their feelings about Israel. Traditional Israeli folk dancing and a game of Commander Bibalach (an Israeli version of Simon Sayz) rounded out the fun.

The 18 members of our Israeli Mishlachat, supported by the Machon and our Programming team, created a ruach filled evening for everyone!
