Screen-Shot-2015-08-08-at-1.55.09-PMTrip day, trip day, oooh ahhh! The last two weeks have been like a roller coaster at Lake Compounce. From opening day to rib night, camp may be winding down but you would never know. Campers are running from place to place for fake outs in preparation for Color War. Color war fake outs are even more exciting for Nitzanim because many campers have never been to camp before. We have been to teva, ropes, the lake, and more and cannot wait for the remaining days of the session. As Shabbat arrives and camp-wide free play and donuts beckon, we excitedly plan the rest of our summer together.

Well it is fair to say that trip day for second session was a huge success. As mentioned last week, Lower Chav went to Ramblewild. Located on the border of Lainsborough, we took a short bus ride over there. Greeted by such friendly staff we got straight down to business and went to ground school. This is where we were taught how to use the equipment safely and all the health and safety regulations. We then split up in our groups and enjoyed the day. We were told that one of the courses, black diamond, had a 90% fail rate, and a lot of our staff and campers managed to complete it! It was a very proud day for Lower Chav. As well as trip day, this week has consisted of watching a few home tournaments, including the Upper Chav boys winning a soccer tournament, and a few fake outs! Fake outs are building up to color war and we are waiting for the actual break out to start color war! More updates about that will come next week after color war has officially begun!

Hey Crane Lakers families friends,

Another phenomenal week has ended and the feelings are diverse. We’re so happy here in the bubble and this week could not have been better but on the other hand, this day represents one more week of the summer; then, we start getting the feeling that it is the end of yet another amazing summer here at Crane Lake.

Sunday through Tuesday were a perfect example of the amazing daily routine, the weather was perfect, the activities were just the way we love them- safe, contributing and most importantly fun! The evening programs were amazing and filled with special ideas, activities and adventures.

Screen-Shot-2015-08-08-at-2.31.08-PMOn Wednesday we went to Zoar Outdoor and did 3 hours of white water rafting. It was a great experience; all of the campers participated and had lots of fun!

Thursday was full of tournaments, soccer, baseball and hockey. Our boy’s soccer team had beat Camp Taconic for the first time this summer and won the whole tournament! Also on Thursday we had the camp play- Snow ball- which was very funny and fun to watch! Seven Upper Chaverim campers participated in various roles in the play!

Shabbat was amazing as always and today we’re celebrating with our Olim 14’ and Alumni Day in a very special day in summer 2015.

That’s it for now, Looking forward to update you soon!

Have a great week! Shavua Tov

Second session trip day was this week! Olim XV went to Lake George after a late wake up for a day of hanging out on the beach, a little bit of shopping, and a dinner cruise for Taco Tuesday on a Wednesday. It was a day of resting and relaxation, and it was a ton of fun! Now that trip day is over, the excitement for Color War is coming to a head. Olim planned an awesome fake out, and they got some practice waking campers up in the morning. We’re all speculating when it will finally break out, and we can’t wait!
