As the red gates opened Monday morning and the cars rolled in, the bubble finally felt complete. At last, there were happy campers running through the rows, smiling radiantly as they reunited with their best friends. The campers were finally home – the moment they had been waiting 10 months for was here: it was Opening Day!

After settling into the bunks, our campers kissed their parents goodbye and it was time for camp to officially begin. We kicked it off with grilled cheese (a popular favorite!) for lunch, followed by an opening ceremony highlighting the mission and values of Crane Lake Camp. Then, we jumped right in to camp mode with two activities on the very first day! Following a delicious spaghetti dinner and engaging evening program, the campers of Crane Lake fell asleep filled with excitement for all that this summer holds. Overall, Opening Day 2017 was a huge success and our culture of kindness is already off to a great start!
