You counted down the days from 364 to 0 to arrive at CLC for first session. You woke your parents up at 5 a.m. to drive to camp for opening day, because you knew that first session 2014 would be the most epic summer of you life! Here are the top 14 things that made Crane Lake Camp first session so epic!
Double lake periods transformed your lake experience from 0 to 60 this summer. You got to kayak, canoe, sail, paddle board AND go on the inflatables all in one period! No more rushing to get to secret lake and back, double lake made your first session epic.
13. New Teva Tents
The new and improved Teva 2.0 made you enjoy Teva like never before. Campouts in the tents were awesome, especially since you got to eat delicious food for dinner and breakfast!
12. Don’t waste the milk
You learned how to use the new dishes in the dining hall, you learned how to sort silverware, you learned how to compost. But most importantly, you learned how to not waste the milk, don’t waste it!
11. 4th of July
Every year the 4th of July carnival is one of your favorite days at camp. Sno-cones, cotton candy and lots of carnival games made the start of first session epic.
10. Double Art with Nino
You walked into art for the first time this session and thought to yourself, “who is this cool dude with the hair?” Well, the cool dude was Nino from the Philippines and he made art so fun and enjoyable this session that you can’t wait to create more things next year.
9. Soccer Score Board
We had a lot of tournaments this session against camps around the Berkshires. Having the brand new scoreboard made it easy to check out the scores of games as you passed by the soccer fields.
8. Winning the JB Invitational
Each year CLC hosts the annual JB invitational, but this year we hosted it and won! You watched or played in these epic games with your friends as the whole camp came together to cheer on the Bonim boys.
7. The Camp Play
The Little Mermaid has always been one of your favorite classics and seeing it be performed on the rec hall stage was great entertainment. You laughed, you sang along, you clapped and you cheered. Going under the sea with Brick and Stella was too much fun.
6. Shabbat
Whether you celebrate Shabbat at home or not, Shabbat at camp is more special than you can describe. Singing, praying, and dancing made your weeks complete at Crane Lake.
5. Trip day
Lake Compounce, Six Flags, Boston, NYC and Montreal trip days made first session so beyond epic. You can’t wait to tell all your friends and Family how much fun you had.
You sang your heart out of the rec hall stage and you don’t regret one bit of the lack of voice you had to deal with for the next week. Each unit had epic performances this year and a big shout out to Olim 14 for winning it all!
The building you waited all year to see really blew your mind this session. The food was incredible and the space was out of this world. Chadar Ochel for the win!
2. Gaga Pits
Every chance you had you were at the gaga pits hitting balls around with your friends. You didn’t even know gaga pits existed, but they were an epic addition to free play.
1. Mini Maccabia
Mini Maccabia was arguably the all around best day of first session. The events, the games, the activities, the theme and competitions made you realize why you love camp so much and keep coming back for more epicness each year.
