The first week has flown by with such spirit and togetherness. We welcomed home our campers for the summer and enjoyed a beautiful opening ceremony. We ate together for the first time as one united camp in our Chadar Ochel and learned the ins and outs of how to compost and reuse.

Well, we’ve finally made it. After an eight hour flight last Sunday, we arrived in cloudy (but gorgeous) Prague, Czech Republic to be greeted by our counselors. Over the past week, we’ve toured Prague and learned about the city’s rich Jewish history, raced up and down about a bazillion stairs, and ate lots of sauerkraut and gelato.

Here are a few readings written by the Machon at Shabbat services this morning.

I’ve been going to Crane Lake for six summers now and as long as I can remember the Machon have thrown a 4th of July carnival. During this festival there are games, snacks, amusement rides and other fun activities.

Our Jewish value of the week is Kehillah Kadosha, holy community. Campers were asked what Kehillah Kadosha means to them while at camp and here’s what they said.
